What do you love about music?
I love the unique emotional element that every piece of music carries. Whether it’s a complex, detailed song or a simple tune, music can bring powerful emotional connection no matter what you’re going through. It’s a language everyone can understand when words aren’t enough.

I mostly sing and play violin at church and occassionally sing for independent events/shows.

BIOGRAPHY

Jenessa Altvater brings professional stage experience and a passion for teaching to every inspiring lesson. She draws on years of Chicago-based performance work and a BFA in musical theatre with a vocal emphasis from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. Her favorite standout roles include Amalia in She Loves Me at the New London Barn Playhouse and Belle in A Christmas Carol at Drury Lane Theatre. Jenessa is dedicated to helping students build confidence, develop strong technique, and discover their unique artistic voice.
