Singer, songwriter, and worship leader Sophia Slates began singing and taking music lessons at the age of four in the basement of the Embassy Theatre here in Fort Wayne. Shortly after, she began learning guitar, violin, piano, mandolin, and ukulele. Sophia has been influenced by artists like Ella Fitzgerald, Francesca Battistelli, Carole King, and more. She graduated from Belmont University with a degree in commercial music with emphases in music technology and music business. Sophia loves catering lessons to what the student needs while teaching accurate techniques. Her goal is to help create confidence in her students and their abilities and to help them want to keep learning about music outside of lesson times. She looks forward to working with you as you grow in your musical adventure!
