ABOUT

What do you love about music?
Music offers us a limitless opportunity to express our emotions and experiences. It records human history in a way that words alone cannot achieve.

Who is your favorite artist?
I enjoy several musical genres and have many favorite artists and composers, including Maurice Ravel, Ralph Vaughan Williams, Joni Mitchell, Todd Rundgren, Steely Dan, and Kansas.

What are some of your favorite desert-island albums?
Claude Debussy’s and Maurice Ravel’s Classical Piano Playing
Gabriel Fauré’s Piano Trio — Trio Fontenay
Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Rendition of Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2
Blue — Joni Mitchell
Hermit of Mink Hollow — Todd Rundgren
Aja — Steely Dan

Do you play in a band or currently perform?
As a professional music therapist, I perform for and with dozens of clients every week. I’ve been involved in several local theater productions, including musical direction of Jesus Christ Superstar and playing the lead role of Don Quixote in Man of La Mancha. I’ve performed with a number of local bands over the years, most notably Rumble, an all-original percussion-based ensemble from the mystical kingdom of Waynedale.

BIOGRAPHY

After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in psychology and business administration from DePauw University, Randy Romero attended IPFW and earned a Bachelor of Science in music therapy. While there, Randy also studied vocal pedagogy and began to teach voice lessons while building his private practice in music therapy. Randy later traveled to California to study speech level singing with world-renowned vocal coach Seth Riggs. Randy combines Seth’s methods with traditional approaches to voice training. He currently offers a durable, effective technique that allows you to practice any style of music you wish to sing!
