Matt started playing guitar at the age of 10 and has now been playing for over 30 years. While he played in many live bands in his early college years, his primary focus has been recording. He's created music for many bands including BSD, Hummingbird Recall, and Snowfall, which varies in musical genres from industrial, metal, blues, and even world music. He also has more than a decade of experience in writing and recording soundtracks for a multitude of short films. He comes from a long line of musicians and teachers, which has imparted on him a lifetime of knowledge in musical structure and lesson preparation for students. A degree in sociology is used to help understand the needs and necessary environment for each student and a degree in philosophy is used in the art of critical thinking and analysis to provide unique and creative lesson plans for each and every person. Add to that several years of teaching professionally through Guitar Center's instructor program prior to employment at Sweetwater. The long history of all this combined knowledge has provided Matt with the necessary tools to give a rich and enlightening musical experience to all who step into a room with him.
