What do you love about music?
I love the emotional connection I feel when I listen to music, sing, or play an instrument. It takes me to a place like nothing else will.
Who is your favorite artist?
I would say that it has changed over the years — and it is hard to pin down my exact favorite. But right now, it would have to be Carrie Underwood. I love the way she can manipulate her voice. I love her charismatic stage presence. I love her song choices, and I love the fact that she is a versatile performer.

Do you play in a band or currently perform?
I currently do not play in a band, but I do perform every day as a music teacher. My day is filled with musical performances and teaching. So, I sing and play piano almost every day. I have spent years being a worship leader but am currently not on a team.

BIOGRAPHY
Since graduating from Taylor University with a bachelor’s degree in music education with a concentration in choral and instrumental music, Jill Jeran has directed choirs for 30 years. She served as vocal director for the FAME All-star Show Choir France and London tour in 2019 and has been a vocal coach and clinician for groups throughout the Midwest. She is an active studio musician, recording background vocals and commercial jingles. Two of her three personal CD projects are in Turkish! Currently, she directs the mixed show choir and assists with the Treble Choir at Carroll High School in Fort Wayne, her innovative shows earning numerous grand champion titles, including a FAME National title. Jill serves on the board of the Rock for the Rock Worship Experience Youth Camp and is a member of the American Choral Directors Association and the National Association for Music Education. She loves music’s ability to transport us to special places and connect emotionally. Take your voice to new places with her!
