BIOGRAPHY

Edward Renz brings tons of experience to the Academy. While he is well versed in multiple woodwind instruments, including saxophone, clarinet, and flute, his first instrument was the piano, which he began studying at age eight. He decided to pursue a full-time career in music while teaching music classes at Bishop Dwenger and then graduated from Indiana University with degrees in jazz studies and math. He moved to New York City, performing in musical theatre productions, jazz ensembles, symphony orchestras, and as a soloist. In 2008, he returned to Fort Wayne, where he began teaching students at Mynett Music, now a part of Sweetwater Academy. With extensive experience in a wide variety of genres, Ed is eager to help you utilize your mind, body, and soul to discover the joy of music!
