BIOGRAPHY
An independent recording artist, performer, music teacher, and student, Dave Latchaw has played professionally for over 40 years and taught for over 35 years. He has a degree in music education from Indiana University and studied jazz performance at Berklee School of Music. In the 1980s, he was the keyboardist for Scotland’s internationally acclaimed melodic metal hair band the Heat. Dave has taught and performed several times at the Rockowe Ogrdki Music Festival in Płock, Poland. He produces the popular jazz-rock funk prog world fusion podcast (the Dave Latchaw Show) for the Polish radio station RadioMixx.pl. He has also released seven solo recordings through Latch Music.
In his lessons, Dave emphasizes technique and music theory. His teaching style is rooted in jazz improvisation, which he applies to all music genres. Dave strives to help you enjoy your artistic adventure while building a strong, educational foundation. He looks forward to aiding you in your musical growth.
