I started Violin at the age of 3 since my sister had started violin in Kindergarten at Weiser Park Elementary School and I "didn't want to wait until I was in school." When I got to eighth grade, I performed an ISSMA solo group one and my judge stopped me after my performance and asked me if I was playing on a full size instrument because it looked so small on me (I was already 5.8 and would eventually be 5.10). She made the comment that "oh, you're just really long. You should play the Viola." Being curious, I added the viola and started working on viola literature. As a student at Northrop High School, I played the violin, three years as concert master, played the viola in the string ensemble, sang in the concert, show and All State Choir, and picked up the trumpet and eventually the French Horn/Mellophone in the band programs, graduating in 2000

I attended Ball State University and majored in Music Education with viola as my primary instrument and a vocal performance minor. I performed in the Ball State Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Choir, the University Chorale, the Ball State Marching Band- the Pride of Mid-America, and countless other small ensembles.

I have now taught in Fort Wayne for fifteen years, teaching a wide variety of orchestras, bands, choirs and jazz bands around town. Looking forward to the next 15-50 more!
